We had our first official day of public guided tours this past Saturday!
I took two groups up the valley floor track through regenerating forest to the top dam during the day.
Both the 10 am and 2pm tours went really well and are really an extension of the educational walk and talk I give to first time visiting school groups.
We will be running tours over summer as demand dictates (week or weekend) for a small donation to the sancutary.

About the Brook
The Brook Waimarama Sanctuary is a 700ha area of native bush 5 mins drive from Nelson city, New Zealand, which will be surrounded by a predator proof fence to allow the native flora & fauna to flourish as it used to before humans arrived introducing predatory mammals to an ecosystem that was dominated by a vast range of bird species uniquely adapted to living in an environment with just one type of mammal that was not a threat to them (long and short tailed bats).
